Atmosphere and impact can go hand in hand when well organised.
Solar panels
At The Distillery we generate a large share of our own energy with solar panels on the roof. This saves significant annual energy use and lowers our CO2 impact. Beyond the sustainability story, it also directly contributes to a more efficient operation of the venue.
Lighting
With over 215 m² of indoor space, multiple zones and different settings (dinner, meeting, drinks, party), lighting runs for many hours at The Distillery. That is why we fully use LED lighting. It significantly reduces electricity consumption without compromising on atmosphere. Where possible we use dimmers and smart switching, so we only light up where and when needed.
Waste separation
Events produce a lot of waste in a short time, which is exactly where we can make an impact. We separate paper, PMD (plastic, metal and beverage cartons), glass and residual waste.
Workshop bottles
We refill part of our bottles ourselves from larger tanks. This limits the number of smaller packagings and reduces transport movements. Fewer boxes, fewer trips and less waste, while quality and consistency of the contents are easier to safeguard. Good for the footprint and it keeps operations sharp.
